*Prose/personal essay pieces should all be under or around 1000 words.
**If you are submitting multiple pieces, please send them to us on separate documents.
**Please do not send us huge batches of your work all at once. Please limit a max of 3 of your best pieces at a time out of respect for our editors’ time!

Visual Submissions (only for themed issues)

*Submitted in the highest quality .png or .jpg format (or scanned if traditional art)
**Must include artist’s caption about inspiration and/or creative process

Submit to our Themed Issues

Our theme is released on our Instagram and submissions are open seasonally.

Email outlanderzine@gmail.com with the subject line Issue Submission – [Category (list categories if multiple)] – [Your name]. Include your name, Instagram, and the files of your submission in the body of the email.

Submit to our Website

Please note that we are no longer accepting public submissions to our website. If you are interested in writing regularly for our website, please check if staff writer positions are open and apply through the Google Form!

Other Notes

We accept simultaneous submissions granted you alert us immediately when another publication has picked up your work. We do not accept previously published pieces.

By submitting your work, you are giving us the right to publish it on our website, social media, and/or magazine with credit to you. If accepted, you are allowing our editors to make small changes on your piece before publication if necessary!

Because we are a nonprofit zine, we don’t have the funds to pay contributors. That said, we will proudly act as a platform for our artists and writers to showcase their work.
